Welcome to our webpage!
Our club welcomes not only those who are new—Newcomers—to the area and established residents—Old Friends—as well.
The Newcomers and Old Friends Club, Inc., is a non-profit organization supporting social and charitable activities and community involvement through programs that educate our members on community activities, needs and services. We welcome anyone who is interested in making new friends and sharing in our various activities.
General membership meetings are held on the Fourth Wednesday of each month at the Chancellor Ruritan Building, 5994 Plank Road, Fredericksburg (opposite Chancellor Elementary School and beside the Chancellor Volunteer Department station) from 9:30am to Noon.
Occasionally, the club has special events at locations other than the Ruritan Building, so it is best to call 540/972-1163 or 540/809-8309 for information before visiting a meeting. Visitors are welcome. It’s a great way to find out who we are and what we do.
The general meetings consist of a thirty-minute social-coffee period followed by a business meeting and usually special event or a guest speaker on a topic of local interest.
Special interest groups meet at various times and locations. Information is available at our general meetings. Participation is normally open to any dues-paying Club member. Interest groups include:
|• Book Discussion||• Bunco|
|• Couples||• Dish & Dine|
|• Gardening||• Games|
|• Lunch Bunch||• Movies & Lunch|
|• Safari||• Needlework|
Annual membership dues are $20 single or $25 per couple. Interest group members share any expenses related to that activity.
